The Most Important Body Part

My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body and through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer. When I was younger I thought sound was very important to us as humans so I said my ears mommy. She said "No, many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon." Several years passed before she asked me again. Since my last attempt I contemplated a correct answer. So I told her "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes." She looked at me and told me that I was learning fast but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind. Stumped again I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years she asked me a couple more times and always the same answer "No. But you are getting smarter every year my young child." Then last year my Grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it is only the second time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to Grandpa. She asked me "Do you know the most important body part yet my son?" And I was shocked she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. She saw the confusion on my face and told me "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life. For every body part you gave me in the past I have told you that it was wrong and given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson." She looked down at me like only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, "Son the most important body part is your shoulder." Was it because it held up my head? She replied, "No, because it can hold the head of a friend or loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life my son. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it." Then and there I knew the most important body part was not selfish, it was sympathetic to the pain of OTHERS. You are a friend and whenever you want you can cry on my shoulder!!! People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did, but People will never forget how you made them feel.

What Drugs Can Do
z

Now I see what drugs can do, to not just me but also you.
They change your brain where you don't care,
Right or wrong it's all fair.
From your friends they'll make you steal,
And make your life seem so unreal.
They'll make you rob and make you cheat,
And make you think you got them beat.
They'll leave you standing in the rain,
With nothing but a lot of pain.
Without a nickel or a dime,
And nothing but a lot of time.
So then you think it's time for you,
To change your life to something new.
But you think it's to late,
The drugs have filled you with so much hate.
So if you think you need some drugs,
You're very wrong you just need hugs!

Look On The Sunny Side

There are always two side,
The good and the bad.
The dark and the light,
The sad and the glad.
And in counting ours blessings,
We find when we're through.
We've no reason at all,
To complain or be blue.
So thank God for the good things,
He has already done.
And be grateful to him,
For the battles you've won.
And know that the same God,
Who helped you before.
Is ready and willing,
To help you once more.
Then with faith in your heart,
Reach out for God hand.
And accept what he sends,
Though you can't understand,
For our father in heaven,
Always knows what is best.
And if you trust in his wisdom,
Your life will be blest,
For always remember.
That whatever betide you,
You are never alone,
For God is beside you.

Prayer for Enlightenment

God,
I pray for the knowledge of your will for me.
I ask for the strength to carry it out.
I pray for all the people I love and care about.
I ask that you protect and guide them on their journey.
I pray for self-acceptance and self-love,
so I may better serve you,
becoming the person you intend for me to become.
I ask for forgiveness for my sins.
I pray that love, peace, and joy
be bestowed upon my enemies and those I feel resentment towards.

I pray for wisdom, guidance, and clarity
so I may better fulfill my destiny.
I humbly ask that you bless me with Your Divine Light,
so I may better understand your truth.
I thank you for all the gifts that you have blessed me with.
Thank you for your presence in my life.

The God Box

If you have a problem on your mind
God wants to solve it, He's so kind
With this dilemma you can't cope
He really wants to give you hope
When you're sad and shed a tear
Just remember He is near
Jot it down, drop it in the box
You couldn't carry it alone, heavy as rocks
If in your soul you feel a fire
It just might be your hearts desire
If it's really meant to be
Telling him will be the key
His love is always strong and true
Especially patient, He's waiting for you
So write it down and let it go
Your trust in Him soon will show
Ask and you will always receive...
Already you've been given a daily reprieve

The Depth Of My Addiction

What was once real to me,
Is now a blur in my memory
You took my love for others,
My self worth,
And yet I kept you with me
You were around every corner,
You were waiting outside,
You appeared in my dreams,
You invaded my mind
Every morning I'd wake up and hope to die
I thought you were my savior,
The one who understood,
The one who took care of me,
The only one that could
A sixteen year old girl dependent on thee
Trapped in your world
For everyone to see
The Shame is to hard to take at times
I'm drowning in addiction,
Washing up with the tides
You crushed my world,
My dignity, my pride
You stole me soul and made me cold
Heartless I was,
Careless, lazy, worthless was what I was told
I'm so torn up
This is too hardcore
I cannot take this anymore
I try and try and never succeed
In making my life what it should be
Unfinished.....
